A few things
worth knowing.
Will VTT styling survive in SRT?
SRT cannot represent WebVTT cue positioning, STYLE or REGION blocks, voice labels, classes or inline timestamps. The tool shows a warning and before/after preview, and requires acknowledgment before export. Basic b, i and u tags are retained.
Are voice annotations part of the spoken text?
WebVTT voice tags are annotations. Conversion removes the tags while keeping the caption text inside them.
What happens to VTT comments?
NOTE blocks and header metadata are omitted from SRT and included in the conversion warning. They remain intact for VTT output.
